Well, hello world!
Once again I’m starting my post by saying that I have been
missing for the longest time.. I guess I’m the worst at blogging.
But, for my excuse, I have been going through a more complicated
part of my life. I don’t want to go into too much detail about it.
Anyway, since time has been so tough for me I started channeling
my energy into reading. Reading is a great, at least for me, because it helps
me break out of my daily reality and go to a fictive place, far from all the
problems.
Yesterday I finished “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. You've probably all
heard of it. It’s a good book about “one
woman’s search for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia”. What I
really liked about this book is the fact that this is Elizabeth’s real story
and that means that she really took a year off and explored the 3 I’s in search
for self-discovery. I admire her courage!!!
About the book itself, well I think I gained a pound
only by reading the Italy part..mm all
that pizza and gelato. India really got me curious about yoga and spirituality.
I've actually started going to yoga classes and I want to get more into it. And
Indonesia..made me hopeful again regarding love J
Back to yoga now. This was actually what made me write this
blog post in the first place. I've never been too focused on this spiritual
side before, I've always considered myself more of a pragmatic person, but while
reading this book I started to change my point of view.
I now want to get in touch my inner self, as Elizabeth, I want
to start a soul-searching and self-discovery journey. Of course, I won’t go to India to an Ashram haha, I will do this at home; as I said, I started taking yoga classes, but I also need to do my research.
At this point, what yoga means to me is a part of the day
when I’m alone with myself, when I can relax and keep my mind still (which, by
the way is sooo f’ing hard!) and just chill. In this stressful life these
moments of peace and calm I think are priceless.
But I still need to do my research in order to get myself to that place of calmness.
How do you fell about yoga? Have to ever tried to meditate?
Or would you?
And most important, can you suggest me any good books about
yoga and meditation?
